HISTORY

Taylor & Syfan Consulting Engineers was established on January 17th, 1994—the day of the Northridge Earthquake—and has been engineering every day since for the next one.

After leaving their prominent positions at a firm in Santa Monica, Steve Taylor and Rye Syfan joined together to establish their own structural engineering design firm in 1994. With two offices, one in Los Osos and one in Santa Monica, they were able to both continue working with architects in Southern California and begin new relationships with clients in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Today, Taylor & Syfan has grown to over twenty team members with offices in San Luis Obispo and Pasadena.
