We have recently heard that the political hurdles have been cleared and that construction is scheduled to begin on March 16th.

On January 28, project engineer Phil Greene left for Sudan to volunteer as a technical consultant for a bridge project there.

The project is a suspended pedestrian bridge across the Yabus River, connecting a village of 15,000 to a larger town of 45,000 people. As the river is flooded for months at a time during the rainy season, the local clinics, marketplace, airstrip, etc. are often inaccessible to many residents. This bridge will help make a difference.

Some photos and additional information are available here.
