FEATURED PROJECT: JUSSILA RESIDENCE
The Jussila Residence, designed by Studio B Architects, is a primarily Type V, wood reframed residence with the use of Hardy Panel shearwalls to assist in maximizing glazing. The challenge on this project was to maintain a thin roof profile with large cantilevers over clerestory glazed walls. The site itself is a hilltop and the site walls were worked in to reduce the need for structural piles.
This project was unique as it was a contemporary project with a rustic feel that had different buildings and different building types and the architectural aesthtic needed to be maintained in the detailing to insure the finished products matched.
